Sponge celebrate the national release of their new CD “Stop the Bleeding” (Three One Three / The End Records) on Friday September 13.
The Day will start out with the band on Fox 2 Morning News in Detroit this Friday around 9 am, and on 101.1 the WRIF later that afternoon.
The day continues with two live performances, The first is a FREE in-store performance at FYE (28297 Woodward Avenue) in Berkley, Michigan. The show starts at 6 pm, and this intimate appearance includes a meet and greet with the band. We are also going to attempt to live stream this to the registered members of www.spongetheband.com via the website. (Must be logged in to view)

Later that night, Sponge headlines Diesel Concert Lounge (33151 23 Mile Rd., Chesterfield, Michigan) with very special guests Bobaflex, Cadre, Bulletproof Snow and Bloodline Riot.  Doors area at 7 pm and all ages are welcome. Tickets are $15 in advance and now available via etix.com or at the Diesel box office.

While “Stop the Bleeding” won’t be available nationally until it’s official release date ofSeptember 17, at both FYE and Diesel, fans will have the opportunity to be among the first to purchase the new disc.

During both shows, Sponge will be collecting items for the Detroit Firemen’s Benevolent Fund. (http://detroitfiremensfund.com/) The non-profit fund - originally formed to assist families of fallen and disabled firefighters- is currently seeking the following items to distribute among its 60+ Detroit Firehouses – toilet paper, paper towel, cloth dish rags, dish soap, hand sanitizer, anti-bacterial hand soap and dish towels.  Given the City’s financial struggles, Detroit Firehouses are in desperate need of these items for their day-to-day operations.

"The Detroit Firefighters lay their lives on the  line every day doing extremely difficult work in extremely difficult times," explains Vinnie Dombroski
